COMMITTEE PROJECTS: THE PEOPLE’S NEW COMMUNITY POLICING INITIATIVE

On December 21, 2009, the Committee of Elders commissioned the drafting of a policy initiative to implement Community Policing through the office of the sheriff, and a People’s Review Board to replace the failed Citizens Review Board as administered in Chapter 16 of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore City.

On January 7, 2010, the project was completed by our team of Senior Research Fellows and submitted to this committee for approval.

On January 14, 2010 the Committee of Elders of The Baltimore Black Think Tank, Inc. unanimously approved “The People’s New Community Policing Initiative”; the committee also unanimously approved the Drafting and Endorsing the candidacy of David Anthony Wiggins©, as the 2010 Republican Candidate for the Office of Sheriff for Baltimore City.

On January 19, 2010, Vicki Harding, Chairwoman, of the Education & Family Committee, along with Ed Brown, Chairman, of the Economics and Finance Committee, with the approval of David Anthony Wiggins©, organized Citizens for David Anthony Wiggins©, and officially launched the campaign of The Baltimore Black Think Tank’s candidate for the Office of Sheriff.
